Did you score any jewelry for Valentine’s Day?  I didn’t, but there’s something about this day of celebrating love that makes you want to bring out your best, or at least look at what you’ve collected over the years!  We all have different preferred styles.  Some of us love modern, some of us love traditional, and these preferences carry throughout every aspect of our lives, including fashion, home décor, jewelry and more!  Here are some great choices of jewelry boxes that represent different styles – something for everyone! 

Modern and Contemporary – If you are a gal who loves modern home décor (think black, white, chrome and bold “accent walls”), then there is certainly a jewelry organizer that will suit you.  Look for modern materials including faux leather, and soft, subdued appearances that include lots of right angles (squares and rectangles) as opposed to ornately carved woods, for example.  The Delaney Jewelry Box is a great choice.  It packs a punch in terms of capacity, with a tray for every type of jewelry, and when closed, it looks like an attaché, the perfect complement to your European style furnishings.

An All Purpose Box or Container makes a great jewelry organizer!

A jewelry organizer doesn’t have to be fancy!  In fact, most of us find that while we go through life we are accumulating so much jewelry that, by the time we are adults, we probably have more than one jewelry organizer anyway!  It’s nice to have a really nice jewelry box for special items.  This is the kind of investment piece jewelry organizer that you will spend a good amount of money on probably.  Some people like an ornate, hardwood box with carved details.  Some like the little armoire type glass jewelry boxes for with lights for displaying jewelry on the dresser top.  But, for everyday jewelry, a great place to start is with a simple box on the counter of the bathroom.  Keeping a small selection of jewelry in the bathroom where you get ready is a great way to remember to accessorize your outfits properly.  I know that if I don’t see the jewelry staring me in the face, (by that I mean reminding me that it’s there), I simply will forget or feel to lazy to put any on.  My life is so busy that I’ve found that keeping two or three pairs of earrings, two necklaces and a bracelet or anklet right on the counter, with the box open, is easy enough for me to accomplish a finished look when I leave the house.  Every couple of months, I switch up the selection of what is in there to so that I’m not over wearing the same pieces.  Any type of box can serve this purpose.  These Faux Leather Boxes make a great jewelry organizer.  I actually have a folding box that I got at Christmas with an array of Victoria’s Secret perfumes – I simply put a square piece of cotton in there to protect the jewelry.  But, I’m thinking of upgrading…

A Review of Acrylic Jewelry Organizers: How to Use, Where to Buy and more!

I’d like to say that Acrylic Jewelry Organizers are the wave of the future, but actually they’ve been around for a really long time.  Still, they are a really nice alternative to other jewelry boxes and racks.  First, I have always wondered, what is acrylic?  Acrylic is a clear plastic that looks just like glass.  There are many great advantages of acrylic over glass, some of which I will get into below. 

One of the reasons that acrylic is used in really thick applications (think windows and shower doors) is because it has a very high transparency rate, making it the clearest material known.  Think of really thick glass – it always has a slight green color to it, while thick acrylic remains clear.  And this is why it is really so great for jewelry boxes.  Because it is so clear, it really showcases beautiful jewelry well. 

Some different types of acrylic jewelry organizers include hanging necklace organizers, simple lift lid boxes, and more complex divided boxes.  They are all a great choice for storing your jewelry, and especially useful if you have colorful rocks or gems that are nice to see through the box.  Here is a beautiful, simple acrylic jewelry organizer tray.  Use it on the bathroom counter or on your dresser top with just a few special pieces of colorful jewelry for everyday use. 

Here are some other little known facts about the useful plastic known as acrylic (and, yes, it is the same thing they use on your finger nails). 

• Sturdy – it is harder to break acrylic than it is to break glass.  Although it will snap if it is thin enough and you drop it, it will not shatter into a million pieces like glass will. 
• Weight – it is only half as heavy as glass, not very important in a jewelry box, but more useful in larger applications. 
• Shapable – it can be shaped and welded (actually melted together) without any seams.

Product of the Week! Expanding Jewelry Tray for In Drawer Jewelry Storage!

I found this great expanding jewelry tray that is designed for in drawer jewelry storage.  I can’t cheer enough about the benefits of storing your jewelry in a drawer.  There are so many great jewelry drawer dividers out there, that if you are lucky enough to have an open drawer in your bedroom dresser or even in the bathroom, you are really missing out if you don’t use it to organize your gems! 

This jewelry organizer expands from 13 to 22 inches, so you can really maximize storage in your drawer.  If you have an entire drawer that can be used, then simply stretch it out as far as it goes and organize away!  If, however, you only have half a drawer emptied out, say, next to your makeup in the bathroom, then you can still make use of this great organizer.  There is an upper layer with divided trays, or cubes, great for all of your earrings, rings and pendants.  If you slide that tray to the side, it reveals two more cubbies.  One large one that can hold bracelets, watches and more, and a long narrow cubby for necklaces.  It’s made of wood with a clear sealant on it, easy to clean when it gets dusty.  It features a loc ball system that keeps it open once you have opened it, no slippage. Ahh, it’s that wonderful time of year again.  No, not Christmas, Valentine’s Day – a day celebrating love of all types, from Moms and Dads to their kids, Grandparents to their Grandchildren, and couples of all ages to each other!  Jewelry storage comes in many different forms, and, just as jewelry itself can be, a jewelry box is a beautiful gift to give on Valentine’s Day. 

Here is a list of some people you may be wanting to shower with gifts, and, for each, a jewelry storage option designed just for them!
